Experience

Personal Narrative: At the age of 18 years old, with very little money, very little English, not having a place to go, nor a relative to join, I was forced to leave everything behind during the revolution and flee for my life. Thus, I have personal experience on how it feels to be hungry, homeless, hopeless, and frightened. For these reasons, I realized the importance an education makes in a person’s life. Like many of my students, I also pulled myself up by getting a great education at the Polytechnic University and earned a Bachelor Degree in Engineering. I returned to college and earned a Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Dowling College. These lifetime experiences have enhanced my ability to provide an excellent education for my students so they too can have their dreams realized.
